Pre-K Curriculum

(Four and five year olds going to kindergarten next fall)
Miss Amy, Miss Rocky, and Miss Jenny: Room 105

Weekly curriculum includes:

Daily language group, Sign language, safety, manners and etiquette, library day, sensory, music, game day, science activity, art creation and community service project.

Goals for this year:

  • Know first and last name
  • Spell first and last name
  • Write first and last name
  • Know address and phone number
  • Know and write letters A to Z (Upper and lower case)
  • Know basic colors
  • Know basic and advanced shapes
  • Draw basic shapes
  • Draw a person with a body
  • Follow three-to-four part commands
  • Practice cutting with scissors
  • Phonics
  • Counting 20 or more objects to develop association between tangible
  • objects and quantity
  • Counting numbers 100+
  • Counting by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s to 100
  • Continue building understanding of the different parts of the calendar
  • Vocabulary Sight Words (100 to 300)
  • Problem Solving Skills
  • Reading (Up to level 1, 2 and 3)
  • Spanish 5 Days per week (Numbers, Colors, Letters, Shapes, Months,
  • Days, Letters A to Z)
  • Cooking and baking activities
  • Bullying awareness and prevention
  • Building Self-Esteem and Self-Efficacy
  • Understanding Good/Bad Touches
