Prelude to Pre-K Curriculum

(Four-year olds not going to kindergarten next fall)
Miss Alyxis and Miss Elizabeth:
Room 104

Weekly curriculum includes:

Daily language group, Sign language, safety, manners and etiquette, library day, sensory, music, game day, science activity, art creation and community service project.

Goals for this school year:

  • Know first and last name
  • Spell name
  • Write first name
  • Introduce their address and phone number
  • Continue recognition of upper and lower case letters A to Z
  • Introduce how to write upper and lower case letters A to Z
  • Know basic colors and shapes
  • Draw basic shapes
  • Introduce drawing a person with a body
  • How to follow simple directions and how to put things away
  • Follow two-to-three part commands
  • Practice using scissors
  • Develop connection between letters and sounds
  • Recognize approximately 40-50 site words
  • Counting 10 or more objects to develop association between tangible objects and quantity
  • Counting numbers 31+
  • Continue building understanding of the different parts of the calendar and weather
  • Spanish 5 Days per week (Numbers, Colors, Letters, Shapes, Months, Days, Letters A to Z)
  • Bullying awareness and prevention
  • Introducing Good/Bad Touches
